For the Record (2026)
My sixth solo album, and the fourth with all original songs, including some of my most personal lyrics … including the song I sang to a young woman to propose marriage (she said yes). These are the best recordings I’ve ever made!
All songs were written, produced, and performed by me. My brother Bob added bass and vocals on Schizophrenia. Recorded at Stellar Studios, Cary, NC, Powow Fun Room, Los Angeles, CA (engineering by Pete Curry), and Audio Faktory, Clifton, NJ (engineering by Jamie Bassford).
The Good Book of Prine (2025)
This album includes nine of Prine’s songs I love to play the most (plus the title song, an original). He created an amazing body of work. I’m grateful to have seen and heard John Prine in person several times over the decades, including a magical, accidental night in Denver with Steve Goodman opening, and in Durham on his last Tree of Forgiveness tour in 2019. His songs are absolutely timeless … I’ll never get tired of them. “He was in heaven before he died.”
The title song is an original, imaging Prine’s characters Donald and Lydia as seniors, getting back together for good after all those years.
Songs I Learned at Kerrville (2024)
The ~30 festivals I attended at the Quiet Valley Ranch outside of Kerrville, Texas, between 1981 and 1999, had a major impact on my music and my life. I was proud to be selected to perform in New Folk three times in the 80s. On this album I cover my favorite songs by some of the many great songwriters I heard and/or met there.
